Advice Note for Users of the Mycoplasma Experience Testing Service

CONTENTS OF THE TRANSPORT CONTAINER

•One large plastic bag with disinfectant tablets.

•One small plastic bag with two security seals.

•Two pieces of bubble packing.

RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE FOR PACKING THE TRANSPORT CONTAINER

Remove all the contents.

Fill the container with solid carbon dioxide pellets so as to cover the black lines.

Ensure the caps on the specimen bottles are tightly engaged and place them in the large plastic bag.

Express any trapped air, seal the bag and place the samples on the solid carbon dioxide.

Pack the space remaining above the sample bag with the bubble packing - discard any surplus.

Enclose in the remaining plastic bag details of the samples and place on top of the bubble packing.

CLOSURE OF CONTAINER AND RETURN

Replace the lid and, with the handle locked down with the arrows aligned, insert the security seals through the handle and lid on both sides.

Engage the seals and remove the labelled piece of paper on top of the container exposing the return address.

The container is now  ready for transportation.

POTENTIAL HAZARD WARNING

THE RUBBER SEALS ON THE TRANSPORT CONTAINERS MUST HAVE SLOTS CUT OUT TO ALLOW EGRESS OF CARBON DIOXIDE GAS, I.E. THE RUBBER SEALS MUST NOT RENDER THE CONTAINER GAS-TIGHT
